TDM is also known as digital circuit-switched. It allows the transfer of two or more streaming digital signals in a common channel. TDM is very much different from WDM since the transmissions from multiple sources happen in the same facility but not at the same time. However, each channel occupies a different wavelength, and each wavelength takes a different transmission path. In the above figure, the propagation of each channel takes place in the same transmission medium at the same time. It allows many optical signals to be transmitted simultaneously using a single fiber cable. WDM’s objective is to increase the bandwidth capacity of optical transmission media. These are the two wavelength bands at which the optical fibers have the least amount of signal loss. In WDM, the wavelength spectrum that is used is in the region 1300 or 1500 mm. It is a cooperation of two or more discrete wavelengths into and out of an optical fiber. It sends information signals that initially occupied the same band frequencies through the same fiber at the same time without interference. This produces a double sideband signal, which is then converted to a single-sideband every time it passes through a bandpass filter tuned to give only the upper sideband. In Channel 2, signal amplitude modulates a 105-kHz carrier in the balanced modulator. In Channel 1, signals amplitude modulates a 100-kHz carrier in a balanced modulator that suppresses the 100-kHz carrier. The double sideband waveform is converted to a single sideband signal when it passes through a bandpass filter (BPF). The bandwidth of 10kHz is the output of the balanced modulator in a double-sideband suppressed-carrier waveform. There's many ways we can select a component but once we select it we then can configure it further.As the figure shows, each channel occupies a different 5-kHz portion from the total combined bandwidth that is equal to 20kHz. So here you can see I just have those three there that are selected. Any component that is in that path, will get selected. You can hold down ALT and then click and drag your mouse to start this little path. The last way you can actually select a component is by drawing a path on the window. So that way you can determine which wat you want to go based on if you just want the edge or the entire component. Its very similar to Auto Cad in this way. If I go from the bottom left to the top right, I have to select the entire component. Same thing is true if I go from the top right to the bottom left I just need to go over the edge of the component, just the corner. So as I go over all these here, you can see yellow outlines letting me know those components are selected. All you have to do is go over the edge of the components to get it selected. Now if you drag from the bottom right to the top left. You can actually click anywhere on the screen and hold your mouse down and start drawing a box and to select some components. Another way of selecting multiple components is by drawing a box. As you can see I have multiple selected, I can then configure them together. You can do that first by holding down control. It is possible to select multiple components at the same time. Here you'll be able to modify the properties as well as change the size and position of that component, but you only have one component selected. The first is to select a single component by simply clicking on it. There are several ways to select one or more components on a window. In order to configure a component ignition, you have to select it first.
